返すべきもの Giving Back to God
ある夫婦はささいなことから喧嘩となり、妻は夫から「お前の物は一つ残らず持って出て行け！」と言われた。
奥さんは意地になって荷物をまとめた。
そして、出かけようとした時、ご主人が「おい、俺もお前のものだから、持って行け」と言った。
それで、その夫婦もすぐ仲直りしました。
A couple were having an argument over some small thing. When she was told to pack up all of her things and get out she stubbornly started to do so. When she went to leave the house her husband said, "I am one of your belongings so you had better take me too!" At this, they stopped fighting and made up.
私たちは自分の物は自分の物と考えやすいです。
すなわち、自分の命、体、才能、財産は自分のものだと思います。
しかし、よく考えてみれば、命は両親から授かり、さらに元をただせば先祖、そして神様に至ります。
財産も、健康であるから、働け、お金を稼ぐことができます。
また、親から財産を受け継ぐこともあります。
We tend to think that 'our' belongings are 'ours'. Our lives, our bodies, our talents, our money are all ours we think. However, if we stop and think we realise that we received life from our parents and if we look even further of course, everything comes from God.
We have money because we have the health to be able to work. Some of us have received from our parents.
私たちは人に対して、国に対して、神に対して責任があり、お返しする物がいろいろとあるのです。
We all have a responsibility to repay our country, other people and God.
イエス・キリストは「カイザルのものはカイザルに返しなさい。そして神のものは神に返しなさい。」と言いました。
カイザルはローマ皇帝です。イエスは皇帝ティベリウスの像が銀貨に刻まれているのを見て、「カイザルのものはカイザルに返しなさい。」といったのは収めるべき、税金は納めなさいと言っているのです。
私たちは、国民、市民として税金を収める義務があります。
国家の法律を守る義務があります。
国家の秩序を維持するためには、国民は自ら自覚して、法律を守らなければなりません。
Jesus Christ said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." Caesar was the ruler of the Roman Empire at that time. Jesus looked at the coin shown to Him, saw the image of Tiberius, the emperor on it and said the above words meaning that it is right to pay tax. We have a responsibility as citizens to pay tax to our country and to our city. We have a responsibility to obey the law of the land. In order to preserve peace and order in our land we all must recognize our responsibilities as citizens.
また、聖書に記されている神は、木や石や金属で作られた偶像ではなく、天地万物を創造した神様です。
人間は、この創造主なる神様の似姿に似せて、造られました。
そう考えると、私たち自信こそ、神に返されるべき「神のもの」なのです。
普通、日本人は自分の命は自分のものだから、「どう生きようと個人の勝手でしょう。」と考えます。
しかし、聖書から見るならば、自分の命、才能、健康、経済的祝福などすべて、神の恵みによって与えられていると見ることができます。
ですから、本来、神のものである私たち人間は、自分を神様にお返しして、生きるべきです。
自分のためのみ生きるのではなく、自分の持てるものを神様にお返しし、神のために生きるべきなのです。
The God talked about in the Bible is not made from wood, stone or metal but is the one who created all things. We have been created in the image of God. Continuing this line of thinking we see that we ourselves are God's and should be returned to Him. Many people think that their life is their own so they can live in whatever way they choose.
However, when we read the Bible we see that our lives, health and finances are all a result of God's blessing to us.
Therefore, because we belong to God we should give ourselves back to God. Everything we have, we have received from God so we should not live just ourselves but should give back to God.
天地創造の神は御子イエスを遣わし、その十字架の死と復活を通して、人類に罪からの救いを与えてくださいました。
イエス様があなたの罪のために身代わりになり十字架にかかり死んでくださったこと、そして死から甦ってくださったことを信じるなら、救われます。生まれ変われます。
そうすると、神の愛に感謝し、神に捧げたい、神に奉仕したいと思うのです。
The Creator God sent His Son, Jesus who died on the Cross and then rose again so that we humans could be saved from the results of our sin. If you believe that Jesus died for you and rose again from the dead for you, eternal salvation is yours. When we consider what He has done for us we are filled with thanks and want to give back to Him.
