雪のように白くしてください Please Make Me White as Snow

世界中で日本人ほど清潔な国民はいないと思います。

ほとんどの人が毎日入浴をします。

汚れた衣類を着ている人もいません。

皆さんは日ごろから、洗濯機とバスタブはまめに洗っておられると思います。

もちろん私も例外ではありません。

それでは、あなたの洗濯槽の裏側と風呂釜の中は清潔だと思いますか。

私はテレビのコマーシャルを見て、季節の変わり目に洗濯槽裏と風呂釜中を専用の洗剤を使い指定通り洗濯機を回し風呂も数分間を沸かします。

汚れがふやけて剥がれて出てきます。びっくり愕然！

すべての作業が終わって気分も さわやかです。

I do not think there is another race of people in the world as fussy about cleanliness as Japanese people. Most people take a bath every day. Nobody wears dirty clothes. I guess everyone cleans the washing machine and bath-tub carefully. Of course, I am no exception.

Do you really think that the pipes under your bath and washing machine are really clean? I saw an advertisement on television for a product which will clean these hidden places. I use it as directed at the change of season with the washing machine running and leaving the bath-tub to soak for some minutes. Dirt peels off and comes floating to the surface. I could not believe how much there was! When the job was finished I felt refreshed.

ヒソプをもって私の罪を除いてきよめてください。

そうすれば、私はきよくなりましょう。

私を洗ってください。

そうすれば、私は雪より白くなりましょう。　詩篇 51:7

The Bible tells us in Psalm 51:7, “Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow."

私たちは外観の清潔、美しさに非常に関心があり、顔にできたシミ、ソバカスを化粧で隠し社会的体裁を保っています。

でも神様はごまかした外観美より汚れのない内なる美、 清らかな心を好まれることでしょう。

赤ん坊はシミもなく清らかな目をして親を見つめます。

親から時に叱られても常に愛されているという安心、確信から平安な微笑みを返してくれるのです。

私たちも気が付かない汚れを洗ってくださいと、神様の前に素直に 向かえる自分でありたいと思いました。

We spend a lot of time keeping ourselves clean and looking good, covering up spots and freckles with makeup. However, God is not fooled by our good looks. He is more interested in our having a beautiful, clean heart. A baby has no wrinkles and looks at their parents with innocent, pure eyes. Even when they are scolded by their parents occasionally, a baby is able to smile peacefully secure in the knowledge that they are loved by their parents. I want to be one who meekly asks God to wash away the unclean spots in my heart that I am not aware of.
