教会の務め The Work of the Church

ある教会の牧師さんは信者さんの数を増やすために礼拝、日曜日の集会の始まる前と終わりに出席者一人一人に挨拶しました。

年に１回しか教会に来ない人に向かって、「イエス様の軍隊に入りませんか。」と言いました。

するとその人は「もう、すでに入っています。」と答えました。

「ええ、でも、あなたは、クリスマスの日しか教会に来ないでしょう。」「その通りです。実は、私はシークレット、サービス、秘密の軍隊に入っているんです。」

A certain pastor, hoping to increase the number of attendees greeted each member individually both before and after every service. When he greeted a man who only attended once a year he said, “Won`t you join God`s army?” To this the man responded, “I am already a member.” Surprised, the pastor said, ”But you only come at Christmas” “Yes, that`s true. I am actually in the Secret Service!”

教会はキリストの体と言う言葉で呼ばれます。

教会はキリストのからだであり、いっさいのものをいっさいのものによって満たす方の満ちておられるところです。エペソ 1:23

教会に集まる人はそれぞれ、指紋が違うように、性格が違い、多様性があります。

育った環境も異なり、タラントも異なります。

目、口、鼻、耳、それぞれの器官は皆働きが異なりますが、皆体に属します。

According to the Bible, the church is “Jesus` body”. “The church is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 1:23.

Just as we all have different finger-prints, all members of the church have different personalities so there is great diversity in it. Backgrounds are different and talents vary. Eyes, mouth, nose and ears all have different functions but are all part of the same body.

体の器官はそれぞれが働きをして初めて、体は健全に機能することができます。

皆大切です。どれが欠けても、全体が苦しみます。

目が見えなくなれば、体として行動するのに様々な支障をきたします。

それで、目は重要な器官なので目だけを重要視することができるでしょうか。

聖書は「もし、からだ全体が目であったら、どこで聞くのでしょう。もし、からだ全体が聞くところであったら、どこでかぐのでしょう。」コリントI,12:17　と言っています。

Only when all the parts are in working order can the body be said to be functioning normally. Every part is important. If one part is not functioning, the whole body suffers. If the eyes cannot see, the whole body faces a number of obstacles. We understand that the eyes are important so does that mean that we should emphasise the function of the eyes? According to I Corinthians 12:17, “If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?”

体の器官はそれぞれ、お互いに皆必要です。

ですから、お互いの器官同士が協力しなければ、体は機能しなくなります。

そこで、目が手に向かって、「私はあなたを必要としない。」と言うことはできないし、頭が足に向かって、「私はあなたを必要としない。」と言うこともできません。

The faculties of the body are all mutually inter-dependent. If the parts of the body cannot work together the body is unable to function properly. “The eye cannot say to the hand, `I don`t need you!` And the head cannot say to the feet, `I don`t need you!`” I Corinthians 12:21.

野球のチームのポジションのメンバーが欠けただけで試合ができなくなります。

ピッチャーが多くのプレーをしますが、ピッチャーだけでは野球はできません。

お互いに、助け合い、協力しなければ、チームは勝利することができません。

キリストの体である、教会も同じです。

一つの石炭では、燃えにくいですが、多数が集まると火力が出ます。

教会も、皆が力を合わせて、一致し、協力する時に大きな力を発揮することができます。

A baseball team cannot participate in a match if one of the positions is not covered.

A pitcher does a lot in a team but the pitcher cannot win a game on their own. A team cannot win unless they cooperate and help one another. Jesus' body, the church, is also similar.

One lump of coal on its own does not burn well but a number together produce great heat. A church too can demonstrate power when the members work together in unity.

協力の協という漢字は、十字架の横に力が三つ並んでいます。

教会の存在の一つの大きい意味は、同じ信仰、同じ志を持ったものが力を合わせて、一つの目的に向かって進むことです。

The Chinese character for cooperation has the symbol of the Cross on the left-hand-side and three symbols for strength on the right-hand-side. One of the meanings of `church` is that it is a place where people with the same faith and same motivation pool their resources and move forward to reach their common goal.

各器官は体にとってみな大切であるので、お互いに比べ合って批判的になってはなりません。

おごり高ぶって、他者を見下してはいけません。

お互いに相手を優先して、尊ぶ姿勢が大事です。

特に目立たない働きをしている人々を尊ぶことが大事です。

Because all of the parts of a body are important we should not compare ourselves with others or be critical of others. We must not become proud and look down on others. It is important to have an attitude where we honour one another and think of the other as better than ourselves. It is especially important to honour those who perform the behind-the-scenes tasks.

チームの一員が負傷すれば、チーム全体に影響します。

ですから、傷ついた者をいたわり合う必要があります。

互いに争って、チーム内に分裂が起これば、チームは試合に出て競う事ができなくなってしまいます。

教会の一人が苦しめば、全体が苦しみ、一人によいことが起これば、教会全体が喜ぶのです。

All members of the team suffer if one of their team-mates is suffering. We must treat hurting people with kindness. A team has no chance of winning if there is in-fighting and division happening. If one member of the church is hurt we all suffer and if something good happens to one member we all rejoice.

お互いの賜物を生かし、助け合い、一致協力して、霊に燃え、伝道して教会を盛り立てましょう。

Let us all use our God-given talents, help one another, work together, be filled with the Holy Spirit and build the church as we spread the good news of the gospel.
