日ごとの糧 Daily Bread
あるハンターが、射撃に失敗して、逆にライオンに追われました。
彼は、無我夢中で逃げながら、無神論者でしたが「神様、助けてください。」と叫びました。
すると神様が天から答え、「でも、あなたは無神論者なので助けるわけにいかない。クリスチャンになるか。」
するとハンターが「私は、無神論者のままでいいですから、あのライオンをクリスチャンにしてください。」と言ったので、「はい、わかった。」と神様は答えました。
ライオンは、急に止まり、祈り始めました。「神様、日ごとの糧を、感謝します。」
A hunter missed the shot and was attacked by a lion. Even though he declared himself to be an atheist, the hunter called out, “God, save me!” as he ran for his life. God heard his cry and asked, “What do you want?” “I`m being chased by a lion. Please save me,” the man replied. “You say you are an atheist so I can`t help you. Do you want to become a Christian?” God continued. “No. I`m happy being an atheist but please make the lion a Christian,” the hunter implored. When God said, “Okay,” the lion suddenly stopped chasing the hunter and started praying, “For what I am about to receive make me truly thankful.”
主の祈りで自分の願いを求める者として「私たちの日ごとの糧を今日も与えたまえ」マタイ6:11があります。
自分の必要の願いとして、毎日の食事があります。
しかし、今日の日本では飽食の時代と言われ、毎日食べるのに困る人は少ないと思います。
それで、この「日ごとの糧」は一般的に物質を象徴し、肉体的な必要と考えます。
肉体の代表的な必要は、衣食住です。そして、それを可能にさせるのはお金です。
普通、お金を得るためには、仕事がなければなりません。
そして、毎日仕事をするためには健康でなければなりません。
そう考えると、「日ごとの糧を与えたまえ」と言う祈りは「今日も健康で、仕事ができ、収入が安定しますように。」と言う祈りに通じることでしょう。
Included in the Lord`s Prayer is a section asking for our own needs, “Give us today our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11. One of our daily necessities is food. However, this is the age of plenty in Japan and there are probably not many who struggle to find food for the day. This “daily bread”is a symbol of the physical things we need in our daily lives: clothing, food and shelter. In order to have these things we need money. Usually, it is necessary to have a job in order to make money and good health in order to do the job. When we pray “Give us our daily bread” we are virtually saying “Please give me health today so that I can work and earn money.”
「神を信頼する者は必要が満たされる。」と聖書は約束しています。
「また私の神は、キリストイエスにある、ご自身の栄光の富をもって、あなた方のすべての必要をすべて満たしてくださいます。」ピリピ ４:19
しかし、人間の必要は物質的なものだけではありません。
「人はパンのみによって生きるのではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つの言葉によって生きるのである。」とイエス様は語りました。
また、イエス様は、「たとえ全世界を設けても、もし自分の魂を失ったら、何の得になりますか」と言っています。
人間は、たとえ物質的必要が満たされても対人関係がスムーズに行かないとストレスがたまり不安になります。
人から、理解され、受け入れられ、愛されることを求めます。
しかし、現実には難しいです。人間は聖書から見ると皆、罪人で、自己中心的な人が多いですから、人から、理解され、受け入れられ、愛されることを期待することは難しいです。
それで、孤独になる人が多いのです。
The Bible promises us that those who trust in God will have their necessities met. “My God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19. Humans` needs are not confined to material things only. Jesus taught us that, “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4. He also told us, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” Even if a person has all of their physical needs met, they will be stressed and uncertain if they cannot get on with the people around them. We all want to be welcomed, understood and loved by others. However, reality is somewhat different. According to the Bible, we are all self-centred sinners so it is difficult to always be received, loved and understood by others. This is why there are many lonely people.
そして、人間は神様によって造られた、被造物で、霊的な存在ですから、霊的な必要があります。霊が満たされなければなりません。
ですから、物質的な必要が満たされ、対人関係もスムーズにいきながらも、何か心に穴が開き、風が吹き通る空しさを感じるものです。
人間は、神の存在を深く知り、この人格を持たれた神様を知り、この神様に理解され、受け入れられ、愛されていることを知り、この神様と交流を持つときに満足するように造られているのです。
霊的な必要が満たされるためには、イエス・キリストを神の子と信じ、罪が許され、心が新しくされ、生まれ変わり、神の家族に加えられることです。
そして、聖書を読み、祈ることを通して神様との交わりに入ることです。
We have all been created by God and are spiritual beings so we have spiritual needs which must be met. Even if our physical needs are all fulfilled and relationships with those around us are going smoothly we may still have an empty feeling as though there is a hole in our hearts with a wind blowing through it. We have been created so that we will be fulfilled when we know that God is, when we know His character, when we know that we are loved and accepted by Him and when we have fellowship with Him.
In order to be satisfied spiritually, acknowledge Jesus as the Son of the Almighty God, have our sins forgiven, have our hearts changed and be admitted to the family of God. Through reading the Bible and talking to God we will experience deeper fellowship with Him.
物質的な必要と、霊的な必要が満たされるように「私たちの日ごとの糧を今日も与えたまえ」と祈りましょう。
In order that both our physical and spiritual needs be met let us pray “Give us this day our daily bread.”
