何時も喜ぶ Rejoice Always
新聞を読んでいてふと目に留まった記事です。
将棋の加藤一二三さん、愛称ひふみんの「ひふみんの日めくり」が… 大好評って。
その時のインタビューで、「今まで何が一番嬉しかったですか？」と言う記者からの質問に対して 、「今までだけでなく、これからももっと日々嬉しい喜ばしいことがあると、神様を信じて生きている。」と言う趣旨のものでした。
知る人ぞ知る、ひふみんの秘密ですが、彼は敬虔なるクリスチャンです 。
だからこそ前歯が全部なくても、若い14歳の藤井棋士に負けても、恥じることなく、いつも穏やかな感謝に満ちた笑顔で過ごせているのです。
「いつも喜んでいなさい！ 絶えず 祈り なさい！ 全てに感謝しなさい ！」 I テサロニケ 5:16-18
これらを実際に日々実践していらっしゃることが分かります。
An article in the newspaper just happened to catch my eye. The famous shogi player Hifumi Kato is known by the nick-name `Hifumin`. He recently released a daily tear-off calendar `Hifumin`s day-by-day` which has been a great hit. At a recent interview he was asked what the happiest moment of his life was up until now. His answer went something like, “Not just up `til now but from now on too there will be many happy, joyous days because I believe in God.” Everyone please know! Hifumin`s secret is that he is a devout Christian. Therefore, even though his front teeth may all be missing and he is beaten by a 14-year-old boy he is not ashamed but can calmly smile and give thanks. “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18.) It is obvious that he is living up to these words.
